A series of detailed maps, produced from the originals by Geoff Gwatkin, and based on tithe, enclosure and other surveys of the 18th and 19th centuries, where available, giving as full a view of settlement, land use, field-names, ancient boundaries, etc., as possible. The maps are accompanied by a schedule giving the names of the owners of each parcel of land, where known.
The maps are reduced to a common and more convenient scale of 6″ to 1 mile (1:10,560) with details where appropriate.
Available in two forms:
- ‘A1’ black and white copies of set areas as listed,
- Individually hand-drawn and coloured in ink and ink wash, by land use or land ownership, on tinted watercolour paper, as decorative and informative works of art to meet customers’ own specifications.
