Beyond the entrance gate, there are many graves in the Shortwood Baptist Burial Ground. Here are a couple of photographs together with as much of the memorial inscription as we can transcribe. We have, at some time. photographed all of the visible tombstones on the site but many inscriptions are no longer legible. In Loving Memory of Samuel Allway who died March 23rd 1897 aged 61 years. Also of Sarah, his wife, who died March 8th 1864 aged 24 years. Also of William, their son, who died December 7th 1905 aged 42 years. Also of Jane
Sacred to the memory of John Antill who died March 29th 1859 aged 70 years. Also of Elizabeth Antill, wife of the above, who died March 20th 1893 aged .. years. Also of Martha Antill, sister of the above, who died December -0th aged 74 years. Also of Priscilla Antill, sister of the above, who died August 26th 1879 aged 65 years.
